Duties and Responsibilities
This position is responsible for strengthening and supporting partnerships with Tax Collectors and other government and private organizations partnering with the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. This position is also responsible for strengthening the integrity of the driver license and motor vehicle issuance process through quality assurance, monitoring, compliance and support activities. Additionally, this position is responsible for identifying potential weaknesses, recommending changes and enhancements, and working with management to resolve potential issues.

Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with the following:

  • Experience interpreting and applying motor vehicle and driver license rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience using ORION and/or FRVIS.
  • Experience working with or in a Tax Collector's Office.

 

Job Related Requirements

  • Applicant will have access to Criminal Justice Information and must meet the requirements of the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy.
  • A valid driver license is required for this position. The incumbent will be required to operate a state-owned vehicle.
    Travel will be required for this position.
  • This position may require the selected applicant to work alternate hours or days based upon agency needs. Occasional overnight travel may be required.

 

General Information

  • The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
  • Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
  • FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
