Description Amazon Web Services (AWS) internships are full-time (40 hours/week) for 12 consecutive weeks during summer. As a Network Engineer working within AWS Infrastructure you will be responsible for deploying network infrastructure across all of our network fabrics that supports the Amazon Retail Service, Kindle, Payments and multiple AWS services. You will work closely with our automation teams in defining the tools that allow us to scale at unprecedented volume. You'll have the opportunity to deploy, scale and automate our network across multiple global datacenter, including existing footprints and greenfield locations. Key job responsibilities - Create simple, repetitive deployment processes that increase both velocity and quality. - Create and update our network standards and ensure that the network is deployed to these standards. - Work closely with our internal customers on designs/solutions; bringing those designs/solutions from concept to production. Basic Qualifications - Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Telecommunications or similar program with a graduation conferral date between December 2025 and September 2028 - Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment - Experience scripting in languages such as Python, Perl or Shell Preferred Qualifications - Knowledge of IP Networking fundamentals and Routing Protocols such as BGP, OSPF, R&S. - Knowledge of network hardware and packet forwarding architectures - Ability to handle ambiguous or vaguely defined challenges and articulate technical solutions through abstract thinking Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $49.38/hr in our lowest geographic market up to $88.94/hr in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
