The Senior Landscape Architect (Supervisor) serves as the District Landscape Coordinator in Maintenance and oversees Adopt a-Highway program, Vandalism Coordinator functions, Vegetation Control program, California Conservation Corps, as well as reviewing PS&Es that include worker safety and landscaping features. Receives general supervision from the Office Chief of Roadside Management/Clean California. Receives functional assignments from the District Maintenance Engineer.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a State owned or leased vehicle.

1. Experience working and collaborating with internal and external partners (Maintenance, Functional Units, Field Maintenance, elected officials and public).
2. Knowledge of the fundamentals of  maintenance, design, planning, project management, traffic operations, construction, landscape architectural principles, landscape design and practices used in the design, construction, and maintenance of all types of highway projects.
3. Experience in landscape design, landscape architecture, field maintenance, quality review, risk assessment, addressing maintenance needs, resolving complex  engineering, field issues and developing agreements.
4. Experience in leading projects, leading teams and ability to manage staff.
